It is one of the hardest woods, 184% harder than Red Oak and 34% more stable. *Johnson's Lapacho, claimed as national treasure of Paraguay, is actually different from other Ipe. Johnson's Lapacho grows so slow at a region of latitude from 500 to 700 meters; the deprived sandy highland in Paraguay toughen our Lapacho texture and quality.

It grows only at border of Brazil, Paraguay, and Bolivia. this is scarce and protected species; Johnson can access limited logs, from which average 2 containers (20 pallets) of wood florr produced per month.
